Last season, up and coming bass-baritone STEPHEN MCCOOL sang the role of Sergeant Belcore in Peach State Opera’s production of The Elixir of Love. More recently, however, Stephen sang selections from a variety of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas for Capitol City Opera’s Dinner and a Diva series: selections included songs from The Mikado, Patience, and The Pirates of Penzance. Other roles in Mr. McCool’s operatic repertoire include Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), Masetto (Don Giovanni), Maximilian (Bernstein’s Candide), and The Marquis de la Force (Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites). When not appearing in operas, Stephen can be heard as a staff singer at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Philip in Atlanta, GA. In addition, Stephen sustains a thriving music studio of talented voice and piano students, providing in-home lessons and private instruction at the Cambridge Academy of Music in Johns Creek, GA.
