DAVID ARAUJO is a Brazilian tenor and graduate student pursuing a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at Georgia State University. He has a bachelor in Business Administration from Universidade de Ribeirão Preto and in Music in Voice Performance from Universidade de São Paulo. He sang in 2010 and in 2013 in the Choir Academy of the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in Germany, participating in a CD recording of Faure’s Requiem and other choir pieces. He sang as a soloist and as a choralist at Orquestra Sinfônica de Ribeirão Preto, and performed with USP Filarmônica as Bastien in the Mozart’s opera Bastien und Bastienne. In 2013, he studied as an exchange student at the University of New Hampshire, where he sang in their Opera Workshop as Candide in Bernstein’s Candide and as Sam in Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah. With Divertimento Chamber Orchestra and with choir ensembles he also sang in concerts as a soloist. In 2017, he sang as a soloist in Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living with the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church and members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and with GSU Opera and Orchestra he made his debut in the USA singing the role of Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
