Soprano, ALEXANDRA LANG is rapidly gaining recognition for her musical integrity, distinct vocal color and versatility as a singing-actress. A native of Atlanta, Ms. Lang joined the young artist program at the Harrower Opera Workshop this summer where she was chosen to perform in a master class given by the iconic mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade. Her roles include: Gerhilde (Die Walküre), Giulietta (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte), and the title role in Massenet’s Manon. An advocate for American music, in 2011 Alexandra created the first role written for her in Jeffrey Brody’s world premiere, The Picture of Dorian Gray. The Boston Music Intelligencer praised her performance, noting “The casting is remarkable…Alexandra Lang as Sibyl Vane offers a study in young, starry-eyed innocence.” Ms. Lang received her Master of Music from New England Conservatory and her Bachelor of Music from the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. She currently resides in New York City where she studies privately with acclaimed soprano, Sherry Overholt.
