Emlynn Shoemaker, a mezzo-soprano in the final semester of her Master’s in Vocal Performance at the University of Kansas, studies with distinguished professor Joyce Castle. During her time at KU, Emlynn has learned the role of Announcer in Gallantry by Douglas Moore with KU Opera Workshop, learned the role of Maurya in Riders to the Sea, and is set to perform the role of Hannah in As One on April 27th of this year. Her roles she has performed include Dido in Dido and Aeneas, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, and Buttercup in H.M.S. Pinafore.
