Allison Deady

Allison Deady has the start of a promising career, possessing a voice and stage presence that is captivating audiences. Earlier this season Allison was featured in the Franklin Light Opera production of Cendrillon as Aramlinde. Upcoming this year Ms. Deady will perform Marcellina (Le Nozze di Figaro) with Peach State Opera and Marta (Mefistofele) with Knoxville Opera.

Allison has a storied history as an outreach performer including roles such as Ruth (Pirates of Penzance) with Opera For The Young’s touring cast and covering the role of Mother in Chicago Lyric Unlimited’s production of Earth to Kenzie by Frances Pollock & Jessica Murphy Moo.

This past season, Allison was given the opportunity to participate in the virtual premier of Speed Dating, Tonight. During this performance she reprised her role from the original cast as Dater #17, Checklist.

Previously Allison was featured with Nashville Opera as a Mary Ragland Emerging Artist, where she performed Persephone in Hercules v. Vampires (Morganelli) and Mrs. McClean (Susannah). She has been seen as a studio artist at the Chautauqua Opera Company under the direction of Maestro Steven Osgood. While at Chautauqua, Allison was featured in the Studio Artist Scenes program as Diana in Francesco Cavalli’s La Calisto. Other performances include Lola (Cavalleria Rusticana) and Edith (Pirates of Penzance) with Knoxville Opera. Allison has also worked with the Janiec Opera Company singing roles such as Meg Page (Falstaff), and Mrs. Herring (Albert Herring). Ms. Deady has performed many new works including Speed Dating, Tonight! by Michael Ching, and Sister Carrie, written by Grammy-winning composer Robert Aldridge. Other favorite roles include Elizabeth Proctor (The Crucible), Tisbe (La Cenerentola), Secretary (The Consul), and Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus). Allison trained with Music Academic International in Mezzano, Italy where she performed Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel) and with the American Institute of Music Studies, where she placed in the Meistersinger Competition. She has also furthered her acting training at the renowned Chicago Acting Studio.

Allison is an advocate for a changing operatic world and has performed in several outreach events. She passionately believes that opera should strive to be inclusive and accessible to everyone. Allison received her undergraduate degree from SUNY Fredonia and her Masters from the University of Tennessee. She is currently a student of W. Stephen Smith. Ms. Deady is a native of Rochester, NY.
