The Union County High School Chorus, under the direction of Alicia Covington, is comprised of 135 students in grades 9-12, with 30 of the students in an advanced ensemble. The choirs have performed in New York, Disney World, Gatlinburg, Washington D.C., and Chicago. The full chorus and advanced ensemble perform each year at the Georgia Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluation and consistently receive excellent and superior ratings in addition to their fall, Christmas and spring concerts. Students have the opportunities to participate in GMEA’s 9th district honor chorus and GMEA’s all-state chorus.
Mrs. Alicia Covington is in her 15th year of teaching and 14th year teaching the Union County High School Chorus. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy and a Masters of Music Education. Mrs. Covington plays french horn in her church orchestra and sings with the sanctuary choir.
